Medical technology meets precision - Kendrion at Arab Health in Dubai for the first time
Two new pressure regulators for medical device technology
Among the trade fair highlights are two newly developed pressure regulators that have been specially designed for medical applications. The new standard Pure Flow Pressure Regulator with a small size of 30x30x42 mm, offers a cost-effective design that is particularly impressive for low flows with optimized control characteristics. The portfolio is complemented by the HiFlow pressure regulator, which impresses with its compact size of 30x30x65 mm, and thanks to integrated pressure and volume compensation with optimal control characteristics, especially at high flow rates. During the development phase, particular emphasis was placed on ensuring that both models met the strict requirements of ISO 18562, so that the device manufacturer can integrate the Kendrion pressure regulators into their application faster, easier and with less effort. Both models are made of a high-performance plastic in a special production environment and are designed to precisely and reliably control inlet pressures up to a maximum of 10 bar. Different elastomers can be used to flexibly meet customer requirements, enabling the use of other media in addition to medical oxygen and medical gases.
FluidBoard®: Versatility and efficiency combined
The FluidBoard® from Kendrion is a highly integrable connection plate system consisting of at least two laser-welded plastic plates that allow for customizable fluid channels. The system not only allows the connection of several valves and connections, but also the combination of valve technology and electronics, as well as sensors, thus enabling a significantly more compact design and higher functional density compared to standard solutions with connection plates. Thanks to the high flexibility in the selection of materials, which can be adapted depending on chemical resistance, and the possibility of realizing higher pressures, the FluidBoard® is ideally suited for use in demanding applications such as point-of-care diagnostics or laboratory analysis.
Power Pinch Valve – Precision and Reliability in Dialysis
Another highlight from the Kendrion portfolio is the Power Pinch Valve, which is specially designed for use in dialysis machines. This valve ensures precise, reliable and fast control of blood flow with a high clamping force of up to 42 N. The specially developed, tube-friendly clamping geometry enables the use of PVC tubes with a diameter of 4 to 7 mm. With its various designs – including options for normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) as well as a cartridge design with manual release – the Power Pinch Valve can be used flexibly for a range of application requirements. As an option, Kendrion offers the valve with integrated sensors for end position detection. This makes the Power Pinch Valve an optimal plug-and-play solution that contributes to safe dialysis processes.
Solenoid locks for medical applications
Kendrion offers advanced electromagnetic locking solutions designed specifically for use in medical equipment. The Compact Lock, a small door lock, is ideal for applications with limited space, such as incubators. With a lifespan of up to 100,000 switching cycles, an optional emergency opener and an integrated microswitch to detect the door position, it meets the highest safety and precision requirements. For more demanding tasks, such as locking centrifuges, Kendrion offers the robust Solenoid Door Lock. With an impressive holding force of up to 1600 N, it ensures maximum safety even under heavy mechanical load. Both locking solutions are “Engineered in Germany, Made in Europe” and combine reliability, durability and functionality, making them perfectly suited for use in sensitive medical applications.
