Application Reports in Anesthesia & Respiration

Precise solenoid assembly for oxygen sensor

Patient safety is the top priority in respiratory technology. Kendrion's innovative magnetic assembly uses paramagnetic measurement technology to precisely and reliably monitor inspiratory and expiratory oxygen concentrations. Two specially developed electromagnets generate a switchable magnetic field that enables the exact determination of the oxygen concentration by thermal conductivity measurement. This solution ensures that the oxygen measurement meets the highest safety standards.

Advantages:

  • Robust design

  • Precise magnetic field

  • Long service life

The unit in the incubator guarantee the respiration air supply.

Oxygen control unit for pediatrics in application

This combination of pressure regulator and solenoid valve controls the oxygen supply in an incubator for premature infants in pediatrics. The unit and its connection periphery are perfectly integrated in the incubator and guarantee the respiration air supply within defined limits. The focus of this customer-specific development was combining the special requirements concerning NIST screw connection and ventilation via “muffler“ with the regulator-valve combination in a particularly small and space-saving design.

Advantages

  • Physiologically harmless materials

  • Integrated filter elements

  • Sensitive membrane regulator

Manual oxygen dosage valve for emergence medicine from kendrion.

Flow Regulator for manual oxygen dosage in Anesthetic devices

This specially developed throttle valve controls the oxygen supply to the respiratory mask of an anesthetic device. In case the control electronics of the device fails, the anesthetist can intervene manually to guarantee the patient’s respiration air supply. The flow is between 0 and 12 l/min depending on the rotation angle of 0° to 270°. A micro switch indicates that the unit is active. Not only has this customer-specific development been realized in a particularly small design. The position monitoring of the regulator via micro switch is an especially innovative solution in this application too.

Product features:

  • UL listed materials
  • Including electric signal output
  • Self-inhibiting shaft for mobile use

Oxygen-valve for dosage in anesthetic devices

In emergency medicine it is sometimes necessary to control oxygen flow to the patient by hand during the anesthesia process. The inhaled gas for the mask will be enriched with oxygen within the device. For this “O2 flush function” a manual 2/2 way valve was provided with two micro switches which indicate the switching status to both controller and user shortly before the valve opens. This customized development was realised in compact size. Particularly the use of standard push buttons or selectors made a comprehensively tolerance optimized design necessary.

Product features:

  • Oxygen appropriate materials

  • Electric signal output included

  • Standard selector with special adapter
