Components and systems for X-ray devices
Imaging systems and especially X-ray devices have become an indispensable part of everyday medical life. There are a wide variety of devices and applications that are optimally tailored to the respective application. Kendrion offers different solutions for different requirements in the areas of solenoid technology and fluid technology.
Safe positioning
Nowadays, the X-ray arm or also called C-arm is found in all operating rooms to support complex treatments in surgery. For example, vascular surgeons and radiologists can visualize and treat arteries and veins in serious operations by applying a contrast medium during the operation. Innovative C-arms are fully motorized and can be moved horizontally, vertically and around the swivel axes, so that X-ray images of the patient can be taken from almost any angle. Each position can be saved and recalled later. Holding brakes are installed in all axes of the C-arm. These hold the corresponding positions with millimeter precision to ensure the safety of the patient.
Rotary solenoid for precise X-ray control
To protect patients and medical staff from the adverse effects of ionizing radiation in radiology, the radiation source must be reliably blocked. Kendion rotary solenoids are used incombination with a lead paddle as optical shutters to block X-rays and release them at the right moment.
Advantages:
- fast closing time
- high lifetime
- closing of the paddle in case of power failure
AirBoard® as vaccum distributor in digital X-ray devices
With the AirBoard®, Kendrion has developed a modular system that uses a vacuum to grip and hold the storage phosphor screen in a digital X-ray machine. All electronic components, including valves and fittings, are integrated into the multilayer printed circuit board in a simple and space-saving way.
Advantages:
- compact and fully integrated
- customisable and flexible
- media resistance for water, air, oxygen, alcohol, varous detergents
Linear solenoid for locking of the X-ray arm
For modern X-ray equipment, the safe and precise positioning of the X-ray arm is a central aspect. The high performance linear solenoid LHP035 takes over the task of securely locking the set position. The linear solenoid is particularly convincing due to its strength with low space requirements and long service life.
Advantages:
- compact design (53x35x35 mm)
- high reliability (10 million cycles in continuous operation)
- short switching time
Intelligent Electronics for X-ray tomography
X-ray tomography is an imaging technique that displays slices of the body under examination. During the exposure, x-ray tube and image receiver perform coordinated movements in opposite directions, providing exact image details in the respective slice. With a KENDRION servo controller all motor axes involved are synchronized and accurately positioned within predefined speed parameters. Communication among the axes as well as with the higher-ranking computer is achieved via CAN bus system. In order to afford the personnel maximum operating comfort, the motors support the necessary movements while patient and x-ray tube are positioned. KENDRION pre-assembles and programmes motor controller and drive as a mechatronic unit and delivers it to the customer as one integrated system.
Advantages:
- Motor-driven force back control
- Collision detection
- The servo controller may be used as torque, speed or position controller with multiple synchronization.
