Kendrion at SPS 2024: Efficient solutions for tomorrow's industrial automation
Control technology for a wide range of automation tasks
At the SPS, Kendrion is presenting a comprehensive portfolio of control solutions from the Kuhnke FIO series, which are designed to meet today's challenges in industrial automation.
One highlight is the Kuhnke FIO Controller 111, a compact PLC that stands out for its flexibility and powerful features. The controller is based on CODESYS V3 and offers integrated analogue I/Os as well as motion functions, making it ideal for automation solutions in mechanical engineering. Its communication interfaces such as EtherCAT, CAN and RS485 allow seamless integration into different system environments.
The Kuhnke FIO Controller 116, a versatile i.MX6-based controller, will also be presented at the show. Thanks to its modular expansion options and compatibility with CODESYS SoftMotion and OPC UA, it offers optimal solutions for complex automation tasks. The extension with CODESYS Softcontainer is new. Users can customise the controller via the CODESYS Store without the need for additional hardware. This offers more freedom when selecting and using software solutions.
With the robust FIO Controller 328, equipped with a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, Kendrion is introducing another control solution that has been designed particularly for demanding industrial applications. Thanks to USB 3.0 interfaces and Industrial Ethernet, the controller is optimally prepared for use in modern automation environments.
In addition, Kendrion will be showcasing significant innovations in the CODESYS HMI panel series. The Vico 04 and Vico MT27 panel series have been enhanced with important functions, including CODESYS Webvisu. This function makes it possible to use CODESYS HMI visualisations not only locally but also remotely via a web browser.
Increased efficiency and quality with Model-Driven Development
3T Electronics & Embedded Systems, is an electronics design company based in the Netherlands and is part of Kendrion since September 2021. 3T will be present at the booth with its VIPER platform, which is designed for sensorless motor control. The Letter Wheel Demonstrator will show how VIPER and Model-Driven Development work in practice. In addition, Sjoerd Rozendal, Embedded Software Engineer at 3T, will give a presentation at the SPS Forum during the trade fair. In his presentation titled "How to use Model-Driven Development for Sensorless Motor Control", he will explain how Model-Driven Development plays a key role in the development and optimization of sensorless motor control. The presentation will offer practical insights into the advantages of Model-Driven Development and show how it shortens development time while increasing the quality of control solutions.
Industrial Brakes: Reliable solutions for industrial applications
Another part of Kendrion's presence at the trade fair is its extensive portfolio of brakes and clutches, which are used in many industrial sectors. These include the versatile spring-applied brakes, including the powerful INTORQ BFK552, which is ideal for applications in intralogistics, the particularly robust INTORQ BFK470 with IP66 protection class, and the new INTORQ BFK557, a holding brake with an emergency stop function that is particularly suitable for use in AGVs and conveyor technology. In addition, Kendrion offers a comprehensive insight into the proven permanent magnet brakes of the High Torque Line, which are characterised by their high power density in the smallest of spaces.
This year, the focus is on two new products: The Servo Slim Line Type 502 and the Servo Line Type KS 02.
The Servo Slim Line Type 502, which enables maximum utilisation of installation space thanks to its flat and space-saving design. This brake offers the customer full flexibility in assembly, as it can be guided onto the motor shaft from both sides thanks to its small hub. While sizes 05 and 07 are already available, size 04 is a new addition to the portfolio.
In addition, Kendrion is presenting the Servo Line Type KS 02, one of the smallest spring-applied brakes with a diameter of just 26 mm. This compact brake is ideal for integrated installation in servo motors and lightweight robots, for example in joints or grippers.
