Tobias Engelke & Frank Dittrich
Tobias is R&D Engineer and Team Speaker for the Industrial Brakes (IB) Platforms & Technologies team. He organizes and manages technical issues related to IB’s platform products as well as new technologies and standards.
Tobias has been active in drive technology for 13 years. He studied mechanical engineering in Hanover and wrote his PhD thesis about “Tribological behavior of sealing rings”. He is passionate about technology and innovation and green energy.
In his free time, Tobias enjoys mountain biking and hiking, spending time with his family, photography, and darts. He also loves fixing old things, giving them a new lease on life.
Frank is R&D Engineer and Member of the Team Platforms & Technologies at Industrial Brakes. He’s responsible for the development and series support of spring-applied brakes, and for getting them ATEX, UL and CSA-certified.
He studied mechanical engineering, specializing in design engineering. He gained professional experience as a design engineer in several companies and has worked as a design engineer developing spring-applied brakes since 1994 — first at Lenze AG, then at INTORQ GmbH.
Frank is a real sports fan. He enjoys cycling and hiking, and special sailing. In addition, he is interested in all around technology and especially model railroad construction.
